Registration

  • Prerequisite: All applicants must be a sworn law enforcement officer currently assigned to a tactical team or designated to join a tactical team in the near future.

    Registration: Registration will be completed through the OSSA. The deadline to register for this course will be Friday August 31, 2018. Students will be notified by Tuesday September 4th of their acceptance into the class. Final invoices for payment will be sent to the students/agency after final acceptance.

Note - by completing this registration you are applying to attend the Basic Tactical Operations School.  Application deadline is Friday, August 31, 2018.  Applicants will be notified by Tuesday, September 4, 2018 of their acceptance into the class.

Basic Tactical Operations School is a 40+ hour training course where students will be given the opportunity to learn basic tactical operations theory and develop a level of proficiency in common tactical operations.  Students will learn concepts and practically train in areas such as history and philosophy of SWAT, liability issues, use of force, team movements, diversionary devices, hostage operations, high risk warrant service, tactical casualty care, officer down, chemical munitions familiarization and operations planning and development.  Students attending the course will receive certification in FSDD use and deployment.  Students will receive exposure to multiple tactical debriefs throughout the week from tactical team members across the state.

  Students and instructors will be lodged

at the Oregon National Guard facility located in Prineville.  

Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be provided daily.

Cost to attend is $500.00 (includes lodging, meals and training materials)
Invoices for payment will be sent to the student/agency after final acceptance.
