INITIAL OPERATIONS

STUDENT PREREQUISITES:

Documentation of training ICS - 100, 200, 700 required

ICS 300 & 400 is highly recommended

Ability to read and interpret topographical maps and coordinate systems

Oregon State SAR certification or the equivalent is highly recommended

COURSE REGISTRATION:

Enrollment is on a first-come, first-served basis. Applicants should register as soon as possible since class size is limited.  This class will be open to 25 students (Minimum of 14). Telephone registration will not be accepted.

MEALS:

Lunch provided to all attendees and is provided by DPSST. 

For those that will be staying at DPSST you will also receive breakfast and dinner provided by DPSST.

LODGING:

For those travelling 75 miles or more in order to attend this training, there is lodging provided by DPSST at no cost.  Currently there are beds available for the first 8 males & 4 females.  Additional beds may become available as the date gets closer.  Lodging can be arranged by emailing Rebecca at rebecca.nolte@state.or.us.

If you are travelling less than 75 miles to attend this training, it is your responsibility to secure your own lodging.

MATERIALS STUDENTS MUST BRING TO CLASS (highlighted in blue):

*Each student receives a textbook (Lost Person Behavior), a binder (with class materials) with DVD and a certificate upon course completion.

*It is recommended that each attendee bring the listed items to class.  Those items that are highlighted in blue are MANDATORY and the other items listed are STRONGLY RECOMMENDED.
